This little farm began as a way to fulfill wedding flower filled dreams. I am happy to say that the flowers, the guy, and the dress are still my favourite things about my wedding. I also have first hand knowledge of how stressful planning a wedding can be. At my farm, although we cannot offer a full florist service, we can offer you two very easy ways to add fresh, elegantly romantic, seasonal flowers to your special day.

Weddings à la Carte DIY Wedding Flowers

From mid-June until the end of August, Storybook Flower Farm offers this easy to use menu of wedding flowers. These arrangements are perfect for couples who want easy, affordable flowers. It’s easy! You have the ability to pick and choose the perfect package for your wedding and your budget. Order off the menu, describe to us your style and colour pallet, and leave the rest to us!

All orders will be ready for on farm pick-up during an arranged time. All prices include taxes. Please note that an à la carte wedding order requires a $300 minimum. This is just the start!-Peruse the options and then contact the farm to make your dreams come true! Happy Planning!

From mid-June until the end of August, Storybook Flower Farms offers buckets of seasonal and sustainably-grown flower for Do-It-Yourself designs for weddings and special events! Each bucket is filled with a mix of seasonal, fresh-cut, vibrant bouquet ingredients.

Are DIY Flowers for You?

Do you have enough time? It’s easy to underestimate the amount of time you’ll need to complete your floral designs. Make sure you have enough time or help to get your flowers from pick-up and designing to the final display and placement. Your plans will need to include time for working on your flowers- or you will need dedicated help.

Do you have enough help? If you’re a complete beginner- this isn’t something you want to tackle alone. For a full service and flower-lush wedding it takes a team of 3-4 floral designers working on wedding flowers for 2-3 days prior to the big day. Just remember, it is a LOT of fun to work with your flowers!

Do you have tools, a work-space, and storage? Working with flowers is messy! There is water and leaves and stems flying about! You will need a cool place both to work and to store your blooms in. (A cool garage, basement, or air conditioned shop, perhaps?) Don’t forget that along with containers to hold flowers and water- you will need heavy duty clippers.

Do you have the ability to transport your flowers? From pick-up to set-up at the event, you will need an air conditioned vehicle to move your little flower friends. Vehicles such as a van or large SUV that has fold flat seats. (An open pickup truck will NOT work!)

Perennial Questions and Answers

How do I order Bulk Blooms? Use our contact form and mention that you are interested in bulk flowers. we can then confirm availability for your event. A down-payment of 50% is required when you place your order- the balance is due when flowers are picked up.

How many stems in a bucket and how much does it cost? The number of stems varies according to the varieties of flowers. But it is usually 60-85 stems a bucket! Each bucket will cost $68 if we have curated the selection for you. (Special requests are priced separately.)

How many arrangements can be made with each bucket? That depends on you and your vases/containers! As a reference you can make 5-7 mason jar sized bouquets depending on how lush you make them.

Can I request specific colours or flowers? Short answer- yes! Long answer- in order to offer this service and because of our small size- you will receive mixed colours and mixed varieties. However, we will do our very best to stick to your colour pallet. This is something we like to discuss during your consultation! Our bulk flowers reflect what is available at the time of the event- you will receive foliage, common flowers, textural flowers and some premium flowers as well. If you want specific flowers you can order them separately by the stem or in (typically 10 stem) bunches.

When can I pick up my flowers? Usually, flowers are picked up 2-3 days before the event. With enough advance notice we can accommodate your schedule. Flowers need to be transported inside a large, air conditioned vehicle with lots of flat space- like a van or SUV.

How do I take care of my flowers? If cared for properly your flowers will last for about a week. It’s recommended but not required to keep your flowers refrigerated. If you don’t have access to a large cooler- store them in a cool room or basement- away from food, pets, and direct sunlight. Keep them in clean water, change it daily- and use a little sugar in the water to feed the stems. (Re-cut the stems before arranging, too!)

Do I need to bring my own buckets? Nope! We supply the buckets for a small fee that can be refunded if they are returned. But you are welcome to bring your own buckets! Five-gallon buckets, tall wastebaskets and plastic storage bins all work well so long as you have sterilized them.
